About

Since 2004, valeant architecture has worked with local individuals, small businesses, and community groups interested in possibilities.  Whether new construction, transformative remodels, or historic restorations, this purposefully small firm works to creatively address the opportunities and challenges inherent in each project.

The firm's founder, Mary Valeant, works directly with clients from initial planning through design and construction.  She enjoys getting to know clients by listening to their needs, wishes and expectations, and then translating those into pragmatic conceptual designs.  She collaborates with a range of consultants, builders, and craftspeople throughout the process to help inform the solution, produce a comprehensive set of construction documents, receive permits, and ultimately build the project. Mary’s level of personal involvement and expertise keeps the process focused, on budget, and most importantly, fun.

Mary brings over 20 years of experience in the field of architecture.  She is LEED certified, and an NCARB registered architect, licensed in the states of Oregon and Washington.  She studied architecture and urban design in Florence, Italy, received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Lehigh University, and a Masters in Architecture from the University of Oregon, where she focused her studies on sustainable design in architecture and urban planning.  Her practice now centers on those same core principles, striving to create beautiful places that stand the test of time.
